Cookies Statement

Cookie policy for the website operated by MONTAN Plzeň s.r.o.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are automatically transferred between a website and a user’s device using a web browser. When you return to the same website, the browser sends the stored cookies back and the server retrieves all the information that the website has previously stored for you. With the help of cookies, a website can therefore obtain information about the previous activities of its users, which it can then use, for example, to retrieve user preferences for the website. Importantly, however, the information stored in cookies is only anonymous, does not contain any sensitive data and therefore cannot lead to the identification of the person/visitor of the website. Cookies are used by the vast majority of websites.

What are the categories/types of cookies?

Cookies can be categorized in several ways. The most basic division is into short-term and long-term cookies, depending on the period of time for which they are stored. Short-term cookies are deleted from your web browser as soon as you close it. Long-term cookies, on the other hand, are retained in your web browser even after you close it, for a period of time determined by the settings of the specific cookie file or the settings of your web browser. Another possible division is according to the party using the cookies. Cookies can be stored by the website itself (these are so-called first-party cookies) or by another third party. Cookies from the website itself are limited to the domain of the website you are viewing and are often necessary for its functioning. They can be short or long term. Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are created by domains that are not directly visited, but are integrated into the pages you visit. These cookies are often used to track user behaviour across different websites for advertising or analytical purposes. Finally, cookies can also be classified according to their purpose, i.e. technical, analytical/statistical and marketing/conversion cookies.

How you can disable or restrict the use of cookies

You can view, manage and delete all cookies using your web browser. Different web browsers also offer additional advanced features for working with cookies, such as the ability to delete all cookies (even long-lasting ones) whenever you close your web browser. For more information, please refer to the help for the individual web browsers:
